What is a Structural Rivet?

A structural rivet has extra tensile and shear strength compared to a standard blind rivet. It  also has an increased pullout strength and a higher resistance to vibration. A structural rivet has a built-in locking mechanism that is designed to hold the mandrel inside the rivet once the exposed part gets torn off. Whereas the mandrel is the portion of the rivet that is pulled into the rivet and mostly removed with a standard pop or blind rivet.
